Unless you stand by and monitor the charging process with a voltmeter in one hand and your hand on the power cable in the other, you will surely overcharge and overvolt the battery with potentially catastrophic consequences.Charging a battery like that makes it a bomb - a bomb that you or your child will put close to the face and ear.
